Goth is the only community that REALLY HAS discovered time travel; the past, present and future are melded into one glorious black, pink and purple family...
That's Whitby! My spiritual home - on the right of the first pic, taken on the Abbey steps, you can just see the tip of the roof of the cottage in whose basement we will be staying in for a week in November! It looks out over the East Cliff beach. Your second pic is in the harbour, next to the fishing sheds - across the road from there are two of the most amazing fish & chip shops. Oh three months until Halloween and counting....
Yup you do! Though the musical line up isn't as strong this November at the Halloween Goth Festival, a little too much reliance on 1980's New Wave bands. Though a certain Mr Voltaire is playing on Saturday night...
I wish I could afford to do the 2 goth orientated festivals back to back - there's the Bram Stoker Film Festival the week before the official WGW and lots of people go for both but I can't afford it :( They look like they have lots of fun. Still tickets & cottage booked for this Halloween so very happy. I just need to lose 7 pounds to fit in my frocks properly before hand!
apologies for delay in replying. It's a general smorgasbord of horror, plus they have gig nights with bands like FOTN and vampire balls. They've not announced the film list yet for 2014, but I am keeping a look out :)

DeleteVisiting Whitby is definitely on my gallows list (the goth version of a bucket list) of things to do before I gracefully expire... :-)

DeleteWell, if I had to choose, I'd pick Whitby as well. At least you can watch movies pretty much anywhere, but there's only ONE Whitby.
DeleteWhat other movies do they show at the Film Festival besides "Dracula"??

DeleteSounds totally YUMMM... Now I shall go back to work and sulk because I can't go... :-(
DeleteI think it's lovely!
ReplyDeleteSo do I! :-)
