ReplyDeleteDefinitely not. If you look at his legs, they are pink right from the top down, even though his feathers are black. Oil would have made his legs black as well.
DeleteMy sister-in-law lives in Eilat! I'll have to check to see if she was lucky enough to catch a glimpse of him. What a beautiful bird!

ReplyDeleteNeither did I. I guess they are VERY rare; I'd love to know the genetics on that. Who knows, perhaps this is the only one!
