Usually not worth the hassle unless I can carpool, which rarely happens. ::sigh::Lucretiahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07489662765492879926noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3554473301545726020.post-74706444750609029672016-07-07T10:45:41.313-07:002016-07-07T10:45:41.313-07:00Oh, so do I!!!Oh, so do I!!!Lucretiahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07489662765492879926noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3554473301545726020.post-43807942283225547082016-07-06T00:43:03.810-07:002016-07-06T00:43:03.810-07:00There are 1 or 2 additional 'special' exhi...There are 1 or 2 additional 'special' exhibits that they charge for, but there is so much there that if you are visiting for a few hours the free stuff more than fills in the time. It's HUGE! And just amazing. They have tightened up security in there so expect to be bag / rucksack checked - and it does get very busy.

Oooooh! I hope you get to visit in April! Club nights are too far away for me to get home from. Then again the last meet up group I was in was totally unsuccessful anyway. But honestly, the majority of members of the meetup group never actually showed up to anything, and most activities were sadly under-attended, regardless of what or where they were, including the club meetups. Hopefully a few goths will end up in my museum group, and I certainly don't intend to tone my style down. Should be interesting! :-)Lucretiahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07489662765492879926noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3554473301545726020.post-73438208630971695352016-07-01T11:36:54.011-07:002016-07-01T11:36:54.011-07:00Actually, I may be doing that in April 2017! If I do go to Crete then, as currently planned, I will be stopping in London for an extra 1-2 days on the way home to meet an online friend for the first time in person and go to the British Museum with her... fun stuff!! I was totally shocked when I checked on the admission price to the museum and found it was free. Why can't WE do that over here?? I feel that often, the emphasis is placed on clubbing even though many of us are now of a certain age. There needs to be other activities that reflect other aspects of the subculture, such as cemetery gatherings, literary discussions, and yes, museum gatherings. I hope you're successful with pulling something together. One of the exhibits that really caught my eye was a stone relief of the goddess Ishtar / Astarte - just beautiful. Perhaps there's a group name amongst the gods?

Also saw the Rosetta Stone & Elgin Marbles. If you ever get to visit the UK you'd be in clover going there - and it's all free.
