I've heard from soooo many people how bad the shipping to Australia is; it's really a shame and very unfair to all of you who live there.

Custom-made items are something I hadn't even thought about, but you are totally right! If you're going to pay a lot of money anyway, you might as well have it of good quality materials and made JUST for you. I also find that if you make a mistake buying something there that does not suit you, you only blew about $10 at most, not like some things I have bought first hand like the shiny Goth boots I spent $130 on and never wore or the cute dress that was so not me that cost me $30!

Buying anything online in Australia can be an issue, shipping from overseas is at least $15 from Amazon for a book, often $30 flat rate from America for clothes! Argh! The mind boggles!

And like you say only get it if it really suits you. I have got things that were so nice but not my taste, and never worn them. Needless to say, my family were extremely pleased to inherit them, though!

I have also realised that if I am going to pay the kind of price for something that it would cost to get it custom made or buy something nicer, then I should get it custom made or buy the nicer item. For instance if I see a dress for $200, that is $200 that a seamstress could make me a well fitted dress for (and I could probably pay for some of the materials out of that too! So I always try to judge quality firstsLaura Morriganhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16402692693911867276noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3554473301545726020.post-56948890947155749902013-10-01T09:27:15.005-07:002013-10-01T09:27:15.005-07:00All it takes is one good one, although I'm def...All it takes is one good one, although I'm definitely open to finding more than one! There are a few things I've paid quite a bit for but they are things that last me like 10 years. Most of the time I thrift always or go to forever 21 or Ross or one of my friend's shops online :> When I shop in store if it is a "popular" store if you order things there from a catalog it comes with free shipping most of the time so that is rad too.
